ABOUT
Les Haggett serves as Head Coach of the West Chester Wolves Premier Team. A native of Norwood, New York, Les brings a wealth of high-level playing and coaching experience to the Wolves organization, along with a proven track record of developing young athletes both on and off the ice.
As a player, Les competed professionally in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Norfolk Admirals and in the ECHL with the Greenville Growl and Trenton Titans. During his time with Trenton, he helped the Titans capture the 2005 Kelly Cup Championship. Prior to his professional career, Les played four seasons of NCAA Division I hockey at Brown University, serving as assistant captain during his junior year and team captain as a senior. During his collegiate career, Brown captured an Ivy League Championship and advanced to the ECAC Final Four. Les graduated from Brown with a degree in Business Economics.
Before college, Les developed his game playing youth hockey throughout upstate New York and southern Ontario. He went on to play Junior A hockey in the Central Junior Hockey League (CJHL) with the Ottawa Junior Senators before completing his senior year of high school at the prestigious Northwood School.
In addition to his work with the Wolves, Les serves as Head Coach for the Quakers Youth Ice Hockey Club, where he has coached players across multiple age groups over the past five years. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education, an organization founded by Philadelphia Flyers founder Ed Snider that creates opportunities for under-resourced youth throughout the Greater Philadelphia region to succeed through hockey and education.
A respected leader, mentor, and educator, Les is passionate about helping young athletes reach their full potential. His coaching philosophy emphasizes decision-making, character, accountability, and teamwork while creating a positive, competitive environment that prepares players for success both in hockey and beyond.
