The Wolves Premier and Hershey Cubs went head-to-head with the Cubs taking a 2-1 shootout victory.
The action started early, with Hershey’s Jameson Flint opening the scoring just 1:53 into the first period, assisted by Caleb Warfel and Jonah Burd. However, the Wolves responded quickly, as Jacob Emmanuel found the back of the net at 3:05 to even the score at 1-1.
Both teams played a tight, defensive game, with neither side able to break through during the second and third periods despite a few power-play opportunities. The Wolves’ goaltender, AJ Golden, stood strong in net, making 26 saves, while Hershey's Noah Pfab faced 43 shots, holding the Wolves to just the single goal.
With the game tied 1-1 after regulation and overtime, the contest went to a shootout. Hershey’s Tommaso Konig scored the lone goal after 5 rounds in the shootout, giving the Cubs the victory. The Wolves were unable to solve Pfab in the shootout, with attempts from Urie, Webster, Keyes, Emmanuel, and Nikiforov coming up empty.
