Slimm’s athletic journey began at Highland Regional High School, where he excelled in both varsity soccer and ice hockey. His passion for hockey extended beyond the school rink, as he played travel hockey in the NJYHL, fostering a lifelong connection with the sport. Slimm continued his hockey career at Neumann University, where he made a name for himself on their ACHA team. During his four-year collegiate career, Slimm captained the squad and earned numerous accolades, including being a two-time All-Star and two-time All-American. He also led his team to back-to-back conference championships, regional championships, and two appearances in the National tournament.

After completing his degree in Sport Management and Business Administration, Slimm took his talents to the professional level, playing in the Federal Hockey League (now the FPHL). As a member of the Danville Dashers, he competed in the Commissioner's Cup finals, a testament to his hard work and determination on the ice.

When his playing career ended, Slimm transitioned seamlessly into coaching. He returned to Neumann University to coach the very team he had captained, continuing his impact on the game from behind the bench. In addition to his on-ice coaching, Slimm expanded his expertise into strength and conditioning, earning a national certification as a trainer and working as a strength coach at Elite Edge in Malvern over the last two years. His dedication to fitness is evident in his commitment to training, as he spends countless hours in the weight room, jiu-jitsu gym, and yoga studio, constantly seeking to enhance his knowledge to help athletes reach their peak potential.
