West Chester, PA — The West Chester Wolves secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights on Saturday night at PNY Sports Arena. Solid goaltending, disciplined defense, and timely scoring propelled the Wolves to their latest NCDC win.

After a scoreless first period, the Wolves broke the deadlock early in the second. Emil Szepesi opened the scoring at 2:07, converting a setup from Charles Becnel to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Just under four minutes later, Bryan Weissler extended the Wolves' lead with a well-placed shot, assisted by Szepesi and Brayden Sprickman. Despite a quick response by the Knights at 7:25 through a goal by Keanan Pearman, assisted by Eric McHale, the Wolves maintained their composure.

The Wolves' defense shone in the third period, anchored by goaltender Ryan Harris, who stopped 24 of 25 shots on the night. Bryan Weissler struck again at 11:28, capping off his stellar performance with his second goal, assisted by Anton Berg and Szepesi. The Wolves held the Knights at bay for the remainder of the game, shutting them out in the final frame.

Discipline played a crucial role in the Wolves' success. Despite taking 18 penalty minutes, including a double minor for unsportsmanlike conduct, the Wolves successfully killed off both of the Knights' power-play opportunities.
