The Wolves opened the scoring at 11:39 of the first period when forward Alexander Khamichonak found the back of the net, assisted by Lucas Hill, giving West Chester a 1-0 lead. The Mercer Chiefs, however, responded in the second period with a relentless offensive surge, scoring three unanswered goals. Goaltender Robert Cavalcante faced a barrage of shots, making 40 saves on 45 attempts for the Wolves, while Mercer's Keith Williams stopped 27 of 30 to secure the victory.
