The West Chester Wolves Academy are proud to recognize defenseman Gavin Andersen for reaching a major franchise milestone—becoming the first player in Wolves Academy history to play 100 games in a Wolves uniform.

Andersen, a 17-year-old blueliner from Amarillo, Texas, has been a cornerstone of the Wolves program across multiple seasons, beginning with the 16U AAA team and continuing into his current role with the 18U AAA squad. Known for his consistency, physicality, and steady two-way play, Andersen’s milestone reflects not only durability, but a long-term commitment to the Wolves culture and standard.

Since joining the organization, Andersen has logged meaningful minutes in league play, showcases, and championship events, contributing offensively while taking on tough defensive assignments. His growth from 16U to 18U has been marked by increased responsibility, leadership, and trust from the coaching staff.

Head Coach Jacob Smulevtich highlighted what the milestone represents beyond the numbers: “Reaching 100 games says a lot about Gavin—not just his ability, but his commitment, consistency, and character,” Smulevtich said. “He shows up every day, competes the right way, and sets an example for younger players in our program. This is a special milestone and one that’s well deserved.”

As the first player to hit the century mark in Wolves Academy history, Andersen’s achievement sets a new benchmark for future Wolves and reinforces the program’s focus on long-term development, loyalty, and earned opportunity.

Congratulations to Gavin Andersen on an incredible milestone—and on continuing to leave his mark on Wolves Academy history.
