Game Recap: West Chester Wolves vs. Mercer Chiefs (Feb 22, 2025)

The West Chester Wolves fell short in a hard-fought 2-1 loss to the Mercer Chiefs. Mercer struck first late in the opening period and doubled their lead early in the third. The Wolves responded with a power-play goal from Anton Berg at 17:00 of the third, assisted by Brayden Sprickman and Harrison Kinne, but couldn't find the equalizer.

West Chester outshot Mercer 32-26, and Griffin Davis made 24 saves in net. The game turned physical late, with multiple fights breaking out in the final minutes. The Wolves went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Mercer was held scoreless on two chances.

The West Chester Wolves fell to the Mercer Chiefs 7-4 in a penalty-filled contest at PNY Sports Arena. Mercer capitalized on special teams, scoring five power-play goals in the game.

West Chester opened the scoring at 5:26 of the first, but Mercer responded with two power-play goals to take a 2-1 lead into the break. The Wolves fought back in the second period with two more goals, but the Chiefs pulled ahead 5-3 after 40 minutes. A third-period goal from Alec Alfieri gave West Chester hope, but Mercer sealed the win with two late tallies.

The Wolves went 2-for-4 on the power play, while Mercer converted 5-of-8 chances. Nicholas Hubbard and Griffin Davis split time in net for West Chester, with Davis making 37 saves.
