The West Chester Wolves took control at Bridgewater Sports Arena on Friday night, blanking the Rockets Hockey Club with a decisive 3-0 win in NCDC action. A strong defensive effort, backed by stellar goaltending from Griffin Davis, propelled the Wolves to victory.
After a scoreless first period, the Wolves broke through in the second. Sean Tyrie opened the scoring at 13:59, capitalizing on a setup from Bryan Weissler and Liam O'Donoghue. The Wolves doubled their lead just before the buzzer, with Brayden Sprickman finding the back of the net at 19:59. Maddox Goudie and Anton Berg earned assists on the play.
The Wolves maintained their composure in the third, keeping the Rockets off the scoreboard despite multiple penalty kills. Liam O'Donoghue sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 18:18, assisted by Harrison Kinne and Connor Stokes.
Griffin Davis was a fortress in net, turning aside all 36 shots he faced to earn the shutout. His efforts ensured that the Rockets, despite their power-play opportunities, could not crack the Wolves' defense.
While the Wolves spent 10 minutes in the box across five penalties, their penalty kill remained flawless, holding the Rockets to 0-for-4 on the man advantage.
