Wolves Premier defeat Rockets 6-3 in game 1 of the THF Philadelphia Showcase

The West Chester Wolves Premier team secured a 6-3 victory over the Rockets Hockey Club on Saturday at the Igloo Ice Rink. With a fast start and strong performances across the lineup, the Wolves controlled the game from the outset.
The Wolves opened the scoring early in the first period, with Aaron Shanks finding the back of the net at 4:43, assisted by Logan Gee. Eli Cardosi followed up with a goal at 8:09, assisted by Titus Keyes, and Drew McCandless added another at 12:14. The Rockets managed to cut into the lead late in the period when Dylan Helmueller scored at 14:48, making it 3-1 heading into the second.
The second period saw a more physical and penalty-heavy battle between the two teams. Eli Cardosi added his second goal of the game at 15:42, extending the Wolves’ lead to 4-1. The Rockets responded with a goal from Matthew Kymer at 18:27, leaving the score 4-2 after two periods.
The Rockets continued to push in the third period, closing the gap to 4-3 when Steven Prevendar scored at 4:14. The Wolves held firm, with Max McKay restoring the two-goal cushion at 6:21, assisted by Aidan Urie and Andrew Farley. Drew McCandless sealed the game with an empty-net goal at 19:34, completing his brace and securing the Wolves’ victory.
Drew McCandless led the way with two goals, while Eli Cardosi netted two and Aaron Shanks and Max McKay each added a goal. Goaltender John Feeley turned aside 24 shots to help the Wolves maintain their lead.
Despite a combined 86 penalty minutes between the two teams, the Wolves stayed composed and delivered in critical moments to come away with the win.
