Wolves Premier Rally to Force OT Shootout Against Utica Jr Comets

The West Chester Wolves Premier team fell 5-4 in a shootout to the Utica Jr Comets at Ice Vault Rink 3 on October 18, 2024, after a hard-fought, back-and-forth game. The Wolves, despite a strong effort, couldn't secure the win after regulation, marking their second shootout loss of the season.
The game started with Utica striking first on the scoreboard. Nathan Burd found the back of the net on a power play at 10:51 of the first period. However, West Chester responded late in the period with a power-play goal of their own at 18:52. Max McKay scored, converting on assists from Aidan Urie and Breydon Webster, tying the game at 1-1 heading into the second period.
Utica regained the lead in the second period at 9:49 when Ayden Zugnoni scored on the power play. Both teams saw opportunities with penalties, but neither could capitalize further during the rest of the period, which ended with Utica leading 2-1.
The third period saw an explosion of action, with four goals scored between the two teams. West Chester evened the game at 2-2 when Logan Gee scored at 10:59, with assists from Gordon Shindelman and Breydon Webster. However, Utica quickly struck back with two goals from Zugnoni and Andrew Davis, pushing their lead to 4-2.
Undeterred, West Chester mounted a late comeback. A power-play goal by Aidan Urie at 15:12, assisted by Webster and McKay, brought the Wolves within one goal. With just 1:12 left in regulation, Titus Keyes delivered the equalizer, assisted by Thomas Normandin and Alexander Couture, sending the game into overtime tied 4-4.
After a scoreless overtime, the game headed to a shootout. Utica’s Christian Coker and Cameron Gardiner both scored, while Breydon Webster was the lone Wolves shooter to find the net. Utica secured the 5-4 victory in the shootout.
Aidan Urie (1 goal, 1 assist), Breydon Webster (3 assists), and Max McKay (1 goal, 1 assist) were standout performers for the Wolves.
