Wolves Premier Triumph Over Red Bank Generals in OT Thriller

PNY Sports Arena, October 5, 2024 — The West Chester Wolves battled back from an early deficit to defeat the Red Bank Generals 4-3 in overtime at PNY Sports Arena.
First Period:
The game got off to a strong start for the Red Bank Generals, with Ilya Kornoushenko (assisted by Maddox Sheehan) putting them on the board at the 12-minute mark of the first period. Wolves’ goaltender Elijah Wiltshire kept the deficit manageable, turning away several strong chances by Red Bank. The Generals dominated early on, but penalty trouble gave the Wolves a chance to shift momentum, though they were unable to capitalize on their power play opportunities.
Second Period:
West Chester Wolves came roaring back in the second period, fueled by standout performances from their forwards. Yianni Tsatsoulis netted the Wolves' first goal, assisted by Nathan Lavallee and Nolan Huntley at 4:54. This goal gave the Wolves much-needed energy, and they quickly followed up with Max McKay's goal at 7:45, assisted by Breydon Webster and Will McLaughlin. McKay wasn’t done there, as he scored again at 11:42, with Thomas Normandin picking up the lone assist. The Wolves' offense was relentless, outshooting the Generals 18-10 in the second period.
Third Period:
The Red Bank Generals fought back in the third period, with Colin Garvey equalizing at 7:23 on a play set up by Benjamin Gautier and Rudolfs Jirgensons. As the clock ticked down, Kevin Pico capitalized on a power play opportunity at 18:17, with assists from Patrick Haines and Andrew Savona, to tie the game 3-3.
Overtime:
It didn’t take long for West Chester to seal the win in overtime. Just 1:17 into the extra period, Thomas Normandin buried the game-winner, assisted by Luca Hobbs and Aidan Urie, sending the Wolves' fans into a frenzy and securing the 4-3 victory.
