The West Chester Wolves Premier team earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory against the Elmira Impact at the PNY Sports Arena on Saturday. Backed by a stellar performance from goaltender Elijah Wiltshire and disciplined team defense, the Wolves held off Elmira’s relentless attack to secure the win.

The Wolves set the tone early, opening the scoring at 6:58 of the first period. Danil Nikiforov capitalized on a well-executed play, with assists from Elliot Weiss and Aidan Urie. Less than two minutes later, the Wolves took advantage of a power play opportunity. Yianni Tsatsoulis found the back of the net at 8:22, assisted by Urie and Braydon Webster, doubling the Wolves' lead.

Elmira responded shortly after with a goal from Tyler Corbett at 10:42, assisted by Karson Grainey and Michael Bottrell, but that would prove to be their only tally of the game.

Despite numerous penalties and a tenacious forecheck from Elmira, Wiltshire stood tall in net, turning aside 41 of 42 shots. His composure under pressure was key, especially during a critical five-minute penalty kill in the second period.

Both teams tightened defensively in the latter stages, resulting in a scoreless second and third period. The Wolves’ penalty kill was a major factor, successfully shutting down all five of Elmira’s power-play opportunities.
