West Chester, PA – October 4, 2024 — The West Chester Wolves delivered a decisive 5-1 victory over the P.A.L. Junior Islanders in front of a lively crowd at PNY Sports Arena. The win continues the Wolves’ strong early season performance in the NCDC, with a well-rounded team effort that left the visitors struggling to keep pace.
The Junior Islanders struck first in the opening period, with forward Nolan King netting a goal at 6:10, assisted by Ryan Kearney and Ryan Franks. However, the Wolves quickly responded just two minutes later, as Ryan Bradley capitalized on a play from Liam McGuern and Anton Berg to tie the game at 8:22.
The second period saw the Wolves take control, starting with Harrison Kinne’s goal at 4:25, assisted by Joshua Swan and Emil Szepesi. Later in the period, Bryan Weissler extended the Wolves' lead at 13:51, with assists from Alec Alfieri and Maddox Goudie.
Heading into the third, West Chester kept the pressure on, and it paid off again at 8:09, when Swan notched another Wolves' goal with help from Brayden Sprickman and Charles Becnel. The final tally came at 15:36 when Becnel himself found the back of the net, assisted by Szepesi and Swan.
The Wolves' defense, anchored by goaltender Griffin Davis, locked down the Islanders for the remainder of the game, holding them scoreless after the first period. Davis played all 60 minutes and showed resilience, making critical saves throughout the match.
