The stage is set. The West Chester Wolves Premier have earned their place in the USPHL Atlantic Division Championship, opening the series Friday against the Connecticut Junior Rangers with a trip to the 2026 USPHL National Championships on the line.

West Chester enters the matchup as the #1 seed after finishing the regular season atop the standings with 74 points and a dominant .841 points percentage in one of the toughest divisions in junior hockey. The Wolves carried that momentum into the playoffs, sweeping both the Hershey Cubs and the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders to punch their ticket to the final round.

Now, it’s a heavyweight showdown. The Connecticut Junior Rangers — the division’s #3 seed — come in hot after their own playoff run, setting up a best-of-three series between two of the Atlantic’s top teams.

Offensively, the Wolves have been powered all season by a deep and dangerous lineup. Max McKay (77 points) leads the charge, while Aaron Shanks (48 points) and Finn McGolrick (41 points) continue to drive production in all situations. On the backend, the Wolves’ blue line has been steady and physical, contributing both defensively and on the scoresheet.

Between the pipes, the Wolves bring one of the strongest goalie groups in the division. Wyatt Demers headlines the unit with a .929 SV% and 1.50 GAA, providing reliability in big moments — something that becomes even more critical in championship hockey.

Special teams could also play a key role. The Wolves’ power play has converted at 23.18%, while the penalty kill sits at 86%, numbers that could prove decisive in what is expected to be a tightly contested series.

Head Coach Brian Leonard knows what’s at stake and what it will take to advance.

“We’ve put ourselves in this position through hard work all season,” said Leonard. “Now it comes down to execution, discipline, and playing our game. This group is ready for the moment, and we’re excited for the challenge ahead.”

The winner of this series advances to the 2026 USPHL National Championships in Wayne, New Jersey, where the top teams from across North America will compete for the league title in a multi-day showcase of elite junior hockey talent.
