The West Chester Wolves are proud to announce that NCDC defenseman Wilson Dowse has committed to SUNY Canton to continue his academic and hockey career at the NCAA Division III level.
A native of Montréal, Quebec, Dowse brought a steady and physical presence to the Wolves blue line after joining the organization during the 2025-26 season. Standing at 6-foot-6 and over 220 pounds, the left-shot defenseman quickly became a trusted shutdown option and a key contributor on the penalty kill.

Prior to arriving in West Chester, Dowse played parts of two seasons in the CCHL with the Cornwall Colts, appearing in 55 games while recording 3 goals and 2 assists. During his time with the Wolves, he appeared in 17 NCDC games adding 1 assist and consistently made an impact beyond the scoresheet through his defensive reliability, leadership, and professional approach on and off the ice.
“Wilson is the type of player every coaching staff loves to have,” said Wolves Head Coach and General Manager R.C. Lyke. “He competes hard, takes pride in defending, blocks shots, kills penalties, and carries himself like a pro every single day. SUNY Canton is getting a mature player and an even better person.”
Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Tyler Casillo also praised Dowse’s work ethic and team-first mentality.
“Wilson earned this opportunity through consistency and professionalism,” said Casillo. “He was an unbelievable teammate who always put the team first. His size and defensive instincts make him difficult to play against, and we’re excited to see him continue developing at the NCAA level.”
The Wolves organization congratulates Wilson and his family on this accomplishment and wishes him continued success at SUNY Canton.
