The West Chester Wolves held off a late surge from the Connecticut Junior Rangers to secure a 3-2 victory on the road at Chelsea Piers on Sunday night. It was a tale of two halves, with the Wolves' early dominance and goaltender Griffin Davis' 53-save performance proving crucial in the win.
West Chester got off to a lightning-fast start, with Cole Kerr lighting the lamp just one minute into the first period, assisted by Reed Richeson and Connor Stokes. The Wolves held firm through a penalty-laden opening frame, killing off multiple power plays, including a five-minute major assessed to Anton Berg for a face-mask penalty, which resulted in his ejection from the game.
The Wolves extended their lead in the second period. Seiya Ishida found the back of the net at 4:28, with Richeson picking up his second assist of the night. Then, at 11:48, Richeson scored, assisted by Kerr and Charles Becnel, giving the Wolves a commanding 3-0 lead.

Connecticut battled back in the third, breaking through on the power play at 4:05 when Alexander Ondos scored to put the Junior Rangers on the board. The home team continued pressing, and at 9:22, James Hope cut the Wolves’ lead to one, assisted by Ondos and Tristan Frizado.
Despite Connecticut’s relentless pressure, including several key power-play opportunities, Davis stood tall between the pipes for the Wolves, turning aside all but two of the Junior Rangers' 55 shots.
