Wolves Fall to P.A.L. Junior Islanders in Hard-Fought Battle

The West Chester Wolves faced off against the P.A.L. Junior Islanders on December 5, 2024, at the Northwell Health Ice Center. Despite a spirited effort, the Wolves fell 6-3 to the Islanders in an intense matchup.

The Wolves opened the scoring at 7:55 when defenseman Logan Lambrecht capitalized on a setup by Brady Huang. However, the Islanders responded late in the period with Ryan Franks netting the equalizer off assists from Arthur Mirante and Ryan McKenna, leaving the game tied 1-1 heading into intermission.

The Islanders took control early in the second, with Robert Lachance scoring a power-play goal just 44 seconds in. The Wolves struck back at 10:06 with their own power-play goal, as Bryan Weissler found the back of the net off assists from Emil Szepesi. But the Islanders reclaimed the lead at 8:41, thanks to McKenna’s second point of the night, assisted by Franks and Algirdas Jaras.

The Islanders extended their lead early in the final frame, with Franks scoring his second goal at 1:25. The Wolves narrowed the gap to 4-3 at 3:59 when Joshua Swan converted a pass from Alec Alfieri, with Brayden Sprickman earning the secondary assist.

The Islanders sealed the game with two late goals, including an empty-netter by Franks to complete his hat trick.

Logan Lambrecht showcased strong offensive instincts with the game’s opening goal. Bryan Weissler delivered on the power play, demonstrating the Wolves’ efficiency with the man advantage. Goaltender Griffin Davis faced a barrage of shots, making 37 saves in the loss.
