The West Chester Wolves NCDC team came up just short in a tightly contested game, falling 3-2 to the South Shore Kings on October 18, 2024, at Ice Vault Rink 2. Despite a strong start and stellar goaltending from Griffin Davis, the Wolves couldn’t hold off the Kings in the third period.

West Chester got on the board early, with Roman Cicco scoring at 4:12 in the first period, assisted by Seiya Ishida and Reed Richeson. The Wolves held onto that lead through the first period, thanks to Davis’ 16 saves in the opening 20 minutes. However, the second period saw South Shore respond. Jack Kavanagh scored a power-play goal at 8:42, assisted by Jason Zaccari and Hunter Bruce, tying the game 1-1 heading into the third.

In the third period, both teams traded chances, but it was South Shore who found the back of the net first. Brennan Cail gave the Kings a 2-1 lead at 14:52, assisted by Joseph Dable. Just 33 seconds later, West Chester struck back with a power-play goal from Anton Berg, assisted by Brayden Sprickman, bringing the score level at 2-2.

The Kings would not be denied, though, as Jack DesRuisseaux scored the game-winner at 18:35, assisted again by Zaccari, sealing the 3-2 victory for South Shore.

Griffin Davis was outstanding in net for West Chester, making 52 saves, while South Shore’s Lukas Fursten stopped 16 of 18 shots to secure the win.
