WEST CHESTER, PA – The West Chester Wolves NCDC struggled to find their rhythm in a tough 4-0 loss to the visiting Rockets Hockey Club on Saturday night at PNY Sports Arena. Despite a valiant effort in goal by Sebastian Pribula, the Rockets’ offense proved too much, with a balanced attack and effective special teams play.
The Rockets opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the second period when Jared Rothman found the back of the net, assisted by Tyler Kusznier and Shawn Swavely. Rothman added his second goal of the game at the 13:39 mark, capitalizing on a feed from Trevor Bodie and Swavely once again.
The Wolves struggled to maintain offensive pressure, failing to convert on any of their four power-play opportunities. Meanwhile, the Rockets extended their lead in the third period with goals from Gabriel Simpson and Dylan Margel, the latter coming on the power play after a penalty-laden game for both teams.
Pribula turned aside 31 of 35 shots in net for the Wolves, keeping his team within striking distance for much of the game. However, Jason Cai of the Rockets stood tall in his crease, stopping all 27 shots he faced for a shutout performance.
The Wolves faced discipline issues throughout the game, accumulating 32 penalty minutes, including a game misconduct assessed to Logan Lambrecht late in the second period. The Rockets capitalized on one of their 10 power-play opportunities, providing an extra edge in an otherwise physical matchup.
