Wolves Premier Come Up Short Tight Series to Jr Rangers

The West Chester Wolves Premier team battled hard in back-to-back games at Chelsea Piers but came up short against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers, falling in an overtime shootout Saturday night before dropping Sunday’s rematch 5-4.
On Sunday, the Rangers struck first as Nikolas Kubecka scored at 14:54 of the first period. The Wolves answered with a power play goal from Ivan Nadtochiev at 9:48, followed by Louka Dorgere at 3:25 to take a 2-1 lead. Connecticut evened the score before intermission when Jackson Hammond buried a power play goal at 1:43.
The Wolves regained momentum in the second period. Logan Gee tallied on the power play at 16:19, and Nadtochiev netted his second of the game at 8:47 to restore the lead. But the Rangers responded with Filip Stroem scoring at 14:00 and Kubecka adding another power play goal at 6:49, tying the game 4-4 through two periods.
The deciding goal came late in the third, when Gregory Monthie converted on the power play at 18:37 to secure the 5-4 Rangers win and the weekend sweep.
Goaltender Elijah Wiltshire was tested all game, stopping 46 of 51 shots for the Wolves. Dominik Godri earned the win in net for Connecticut with 41 saves on 45 shots.
