The West Chester Wolves Premier team secured a 4-2 victory over the Connecticut Junior Rangers on Friday at Chelsea Piers North. With strong offensive contributions and stellar goaltending from Elijah Wiltshire, the Wolves overcame an early deficit to take the win.
The Junior Rangers opened the scoring in the first period, with a goal from Emil Elias at 3:14. However, the Wolves answered back late in the period when Jacob Emmanuel scored at 18:26, assisted by Will McLaughlin and captain Andrew Farley. The first period ended in a 1-1 tie, setting the tone for a hard-fought game.
In the second period, the Wolves capitalized on a power play opportunity, with Max McKay finding the back of the net at 17:22. Danil Nikiforov and Breydon Webster assisted, putting West Chester up 2-1. The Wolves’ power-play unit continued to excel, adding crucial goals and keeping Connecticut’s penalty kill under pressure.
The third period saw an exchange of goals as the Junior Rangers’ Gavin Anderson scored at 9:56, briefly narrowing West Chester’s lead to 3-2. The Wolves quickly responded on the power play, with Webster scoring at 12:20 off an assist from Aaron Shanks. Logan Gee added an insurance goal at 16:40, with assists from Dante Santangelo and Shanks, securing the Wolves' lead at 4-2.
Wiltshire was a key presence in the net, recording 42 saves and holding off a relentless Connecticut attack in the final minutes. With this victory, the Wolves continue their strong start to the season, showcasing both offensive depth and disciplined special teams play.
