Wolves Premier Secure Commanding 5-1 Victory Over Mercer Chiefs

The West Chester Wolves Premier team delivered a standout performance Saturday night at Ice Land Skating Center, defeating the Mercer Chiefs 5-1. A strong second period and consistent teamwork highlighted the Wolves' dominance.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Wolves took control in the second period. Captain Andrew Farley initiated the scoring on the power play at 2:47, assisted by Aidan Urie and Max McKay. Dante Santangelo followed up at 7:42, converting a play set up by Finn McGolrick and Aaron Shanks. With just over two minutes left in the period, Gordon Shindelman added the third goal, aided by Santangelo and Logan Gee.
Mercer Chiefs managed to break through early in the third, with Francis Rose scoring at 3:00 from Jakub Hanzak and Michael Bonino. However, the Wolves responded decisively. Nathan Lavallee scored at 8:00, assisted by Will McLaughlin and Aidan Urie. McLaughlin capped the night with his goal at 18:28, with Gordon Shindelman and Alexander Couture earning the assists.
Goaltender Anthony "AJ" Golden was a pillar in net, stopping 26 of 27 shots and maintaining a calm presence throughout the game. The Wolves' defensive unit, led by Andrew Farley and Braydon Webster, shut down Mercer's scoring opportunities, limiting their power play to zero conversions on one opportunity.
Four different players scored for the Wolves, with 10 assists shared across the team. The balanced effort underscores Head Coach Brian Leonard's focus on depth and collaboration. The Wolves capitalized on one of their two power-play opportunities while maintaining discipline, taking only three penalties for six minutes.
