The West Chester Wolves Premier have a new standout to celebrate, as defenseman Finn McGolrick has been named Atlantic Division Defenseman of the Year in the USPHL Premier.
McGolrick was a dominant force on the blue line all season, earning the honor as a clear consensus pick among league coaches. The Mission Viejo, CA native combined elite offensive production with shutdown defensive play, posting 8 goals and 33 assists for 41 points in just 37 games.
Quarterbacking the Wolves’ transition game, McGolrick consistently drove play from the back end. His vision, puck-moving ability, and composure under pressure made him one of the most reliable defensemen in the division. Whether jumping into the rush or shutting down top opposing forwards, he proved to be a complete two-way defenseman.

Beyond the numbers, McGolrick’s impact was felt in every situation. Logging heavy minutes, contributing on special teams, and providing stability in key moments, he became a cornerstone of the Wolves’ lineup throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
His performance carried into the postseason as well, where he added 5 assists in 10 playoff games, continuing to lead from the back end as the Wolves made their run.
Head Coach Brian Leonard praised McGolrick’s impact and consistency throughout the season.
“Finn was one of the most complete defensemen in our division this year. He competes hard every shift, makes plays under pressure, and can be trusted in every situation. His ability to contribute offensively while staying reliable defensively is what separates him, and this recognition is well deserved,” said Leonard.
McGolrick’s recognition as Defenseman of the Year not only highlights his individual excellence but also reflects the strength and development within the Wolves Premier program. With his blend of skill, intelligence, and reliability, he set the standard on the blue line across the Atlantic Division this season.
