West Chester Wolves NCDC fight tough battles in Atlantic Division as season continues

December 10: Wolves home dub in close-contest against Jr Islanders, 3–2

First period – Reece Allman scores first goal for the Wolves with assists from Ryunosuke Shirozu and Emil Szepesi. Second goal by Tomas Pribyl, with assists from Emil Szepesi and Reece Allman. Goalie Xavier Delisle has a solid start in net, saving every shot in the first period. 


Second period – Winning goal made in a Power Play by Reece Allman, assisted by Dallas Glenn and Maddox Goudie. 


Third period – Wolves attempt to up the score, making 9 shot attempts on Islanders goalie. Xavier Delisle defends the net, saving 19 of 19 shots in final, perfect period. Total saves: 33


December 12: Wolves take victory in battle against Mercer Chiefs, 7–5 

First period – Captain Harrison Kinne scores first goal, with assists from Reece Allman and Tomas Pribyl. Goalie Kasen Mainberger saves 16 shots. 


Second period – Wolves amp it up with 4 goals in tight second period. Goals by: Markus Lunski, Emil Szepesi, Tomas Pribyl, and Brody Bess. Assists by: Connor Stokes, Hudson Snesrud, Reece Allman, Tomas Pribyl, Harrison Kinne, and Maddox Goudie.


Third period – Wolves start off final period with a Power Play goal by Harrison Kinne, assisted by Tomas Pribyl and Maddox Goudie. Winning goal scored by Emil Szepesi with assists from Reece Allman and Tomas Pribyl. 


Kasen Mainberger saves 31 total shots in tough match. 


December 13: Wolves take shutout win against Rockets Hockey Club, 1–0 

One goal takes the game for the Wolves in battle against the Rockets. Scored by Stryker Foster, with assists from Captain Harrison Kinne and Titus Keyes during the second period. Goalie Kasen Mainberger reaches brick wall status in defending the net, with a total shutout game saving 32 of 32 shots. 


December 19: Wolves lose tight battle against Jersey Hitmen, 6–5  

First period – Goal scored by Alec Alfieri with assists from Dallas Glenn and Maddox Goudie. Second goal scored in Power Play by Reece Allman with assists from Dallas Glenn and Harrison Kinne. Goalie Xavier Delisle starts off strong with 16 saves. 


Second period – Maddox Goudie makes third goal of the game in a Power Play, with assists from Harrison Kinne and Reece Allman. 


Third period – Goal scored by Hudson Snesrud assisted by Max McKay and Reece Allman. Final goal from the Wolves scored by Reece Allman, assisted by Cole LeBlanc and Emil Szepesi. The Wolves tie against the Hitmen and go into overtime. 


Epic OT Shootout Battle – Wolves ultimately lost in a shootout battle during overtime. It was a tight game and the boys fought hard. Every loss is a lesson; the Wolves look ahead. 


December 20: Wolves prevail on home ice against Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights, 3–2

Wolves score 3 goals in the first period, bringing them to victory. Goal #1 scored by Emil Szepesi, unassisted. Goal #2 scored by Emil Szepesi, once again, with assists from Reece Allman and Tomas Pribyl. Goal #3 scored by Alec Alfieri, assisted by Maddox Goudie. In net, Kasen Mainberger saves 27 of 29 total shots. 


The Wolves celebrate a much-needed dub before winter break as they rest up to continue the hunt, resuming in the new year. 


January 3: Wolves drop matchup against Jr. Islanders, 8–1Wolves score single goal in first period. Shot by Emil Szepesi with assists from Grant Lucas and Cole LeBlanc. In net, Xavier Delisle saves 28 of 34 shots. Tendy switch-up towards the end of third and final period with Kasen Mainberger, saving 18 of 20 shots in a tough battle.


Though not the outcome the Wolves had hoped for, they use this loss to fuel them for tomorrow’s rematch. 


January 4: Wolves lose tough fight for redemption against Jr. Islanders, 7–1

Wolves fall short, scoring only one goal during the second period in the battle for redemption. Shot by Tomas Pribyl with assists from Reece Allman and Emil Szepesi. 

Between the pipes, goalie Kasen Mainberger saves 31 of 38 shots in this unfortunate loss on home ice. 


The Wolves end the weekend matchup with back-to-back losses, which will surely be used to adapt their strategies moving forward.


January 10: Wolves fall short against Rockets Hockey Club, 4–1

First period – In net, Sebastian Pribula saves 19 of 19 shots for the Wolves. Neither team scored during the first. Plenty of time for anything to happen in the remaining periods; the Wolves stay optimistic. 


Second period – Another quiet period for the Wolves, with Pribula saving 9 of 10 shots in goal. 


Third period – The Wolves take their one and only score in a Power Play during the final two minutes of the game. Shot by Tomas Pribyl, assisted by Maddox Goudie and  Zakhar Meshcheriakov. 


Goalie Sebastian Pribula saves 38 of 42 total shots in this challenging matchup.


January 16: Wolves suffer another tough loss against Rockets in tight game, 4–3

First period – It’s a quiet start to the game for the Wolves. No goals were scored by the pack, but between the pipes, goalie Kasen Mainberger saves 10 of 11 shots made. 


Second period – Things begin to pick up in speed for the Wolves scoring their first goal by Titus Keyes, with help from assistant captains: Connor Stokes and Alec Alfieri.  Minutes later, another goal scored by Chase Kerr, assisted by Tomas Pribyl and Philip Gamper.


Third period – The Wolves bring the score to a tie in the final period, with a goal from Colin Murphy, assisted by Harrison Kinne and Alec Alfieri. Unfortunately, less than a minute later the Rockets snuck up on the pack with a Power Play goal, taking the W in this nail-biting matchup. 


Goalie Kasen Mainberger worked hard in net, saving 30 of 34 total shots. 


January 17: Wolves fight hard in another tight match against Mercer Chiefs, 4–3

After a quiet first period for the Wolves, they turned up the temperature for the second and third. First goal for the Wolves scored by the Captain Crew: Connor Stokes making the shot, with setup assists from Alec Alfieri and Harrison Kinne. Second goal scored in the last minute of the second period; shot by Markus Lunski, assisted by Chase Kerr and Drew McCandless. The third period would make or break the pack, with a goal made by Harrison Kinne, assisted by Chase Kerr and Connor Stokes. 


In a tied match by the end of the third, the game goes into OT with a shutout being the factor that will decide which team reigns victorious. Reece Allman almost took the games for the Wolves, scoring one shot during the SO. Ultimately, the Chiefs make two shots and win the game. The pack gave it their all in this difficult battle and look ahead to the next trial. 


January 23: Wolves catch a break with tight dub on home ice against Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights, 4–3

First period – Starting the game off strong for the Wolves, Emil Szepesi scores the first goal, with assists from Markus Lunski and Cole LeBlanc. Goalie Kasen Mainberger saves 14 of 14 shots so far. 


Second period – A Power Play goal by Maddox Goudie, assisted by Reece Allman and Tomas Pribyl sets up the pack for a strong third period. 


Third period – The goal that brings the game to a tie comes from Harrison Kinne, assisted by Alec Alfieri and Tomas Pribyl. And the winning goal that breaks the tie comes from Chase Kerr with assists from Maddox Goudie and Harrison Kinne. The pack finally catches a break with this win and will use this comeback to fuel the force looking forward. 


January 24: Wolves drop the ball in close-call game against Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights, 1–0 

The Wolves were hopeful going into a rematch against the Knights, but fell short in this tight game. Neither the Wolves, nor the Knights were able to score a goal during all three periods. Goalie Sebastian Pribula fought hard defending the net, saving 31 of 31 shots. It ended up being a shutout game for both teams until the OT shootout would ultimately decide the winner. Unfortunately, the Knights took it, scoring one single shot during the shootout. 


The pack moves forward with their heads held high, taking the loss with grace and reflection.


January 30: Wolves take a hard loss against Connecticut Jr. Rangers, 5–2

First period – A quiet first period to start the Wolves off. The Junior Rangers score twice, but the pack doesn’t sweat it. They move into the second period, ready to continue the battle. 


Second period – The game picks up in speed for the Wolves. First goal for the pack comes from Emil Szepesi with assists from Jonathon Lau and Jakob Hansen. Another goal, scored by Reece Allman, assisted by Harrison Kinne and Maddox Goudie in a Power Play.


Third period – No goals scored by the Wolves in the third and final period. They take an unfortunate loss, once again, but they are determined to not let this defeat them in the long-run.   


January 31: Wolves unfortunate cold streak continues; loss against Connecticut Jr. Rangers, 5–3

First period – Another game, another quiet start for the Wolves. They’re just warming up to bring the pressure in the second period. 


Second period – Three Power Plays, three goals, in three minutes. Starting off the trend we have Tomas Pribyl scoring, with assists from Maddox Goudie and Harrison Kinne.  Less than a minute later, Maddox Goudie takes his turn in scoring a goal for the pack, assisted by Harrison Kinne and Reece Allman. Finally, Reece Allman takes a shot and scores with the help from Captain Kinne and Maddox Goudie. 


Third period – The pack heads into the final period with optimism and grit, ready to keep fighting. Unfortunately, they were unable to pull through and win this one, though they put up a good fight. Between the pipes, Sebastian Pribula saved 33 of 37 shots in this tough battle. 


February 6: Wolves lose close-call matchup against Rockets Hockey Club, 2–1

Both the first and second periods were all quiet on the front for both the Wolves and Rockets this afternoon. The battle picked up in the third period, where Maddox Goudie scored for the Wolves, with an assist from Jakob Hansen. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to defeat the Rockets in this matchup. But the pack keeps their heads up and looks ahead for the rematch tomorrow, in hopes of redemption. 


February 7: Wolves take the L against Rockets Hockey Club, 3–0 

The Wolves fall short against the Rockets tonight in this unfortunate rematch. Though, goalie Sebastian Pribula fought a difficult battle in net, saving 27 of 30 shots. The pack continues the hunt moving forward, in hopes of turning the season around. These challenging losses will not be mourned; the pack will use them as opportunities of lessons and reflection to carry them through the strenuous battles ahead.
