The West Chester Wolves are proud to announce that forward Chase Becnel has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Alvernia University beginning in the 2025-2026 season.
A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Becnel’s journey has been a steady climb through the youth and junior hockey ranks, highlighted by his strong two-way play and leadership both on and off the ice. In the 2024-25 season with the Wolves, Becnel recorded 22 points (7 goals, 15 assists) in 48 regular-season games and added 2 points in 2 playoff appearances.
“Chase is a high-character player who brings consistency and compete every day,” said Head Coach R.C. Lyke. “He plays the game the right way and has earned every opportunity that’s come his way. We’re excited to see him continue his journey at Alvernia.”
Prior to joining the Wolves, Becnel saw time in the NAHL with the Lone Star Brahmas and also skated with the Ogden Mustangs in the NCDC. He has been a product of the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and West Chester East High School, representing his hometown with pride throughout his hockey career.
“He does the little things right, never takes a shift off, and always puts the team first. Alvernia is getting a great player and an even better person,” added Associate Head Coach Tyler Casillo.
The West Chester Wolves congratulate Chase and the entire Becnel family on this exciting next chapter.
