The West Chester Wolves are proud to announce that defenseman Liam O'Donoghue has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Wilkes University for the 2025-26 season.
O'Donoghue, a 6'1", 200-pound blueliner from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, has been a steady presence on the Wolves’ back end all season. Known for his physicality, smart decision-making, and ability to move pucks under pressure, O'Donoghue brought veteran experience to the team’s defensive core.
“Liam is the kind of defenseman every team needs,” said R.C. Lyke, Head Coach and General Manager of the Wolves. “He’s reliable, makes strong plays in all three zones, and plays with a ton of heart. Wilkes is getting a great addition.”
Before joining the Wolves this season, O'Donoghue spent time with the Philadelphia Hockey Club (EHL), Richmond Generals (USPHL Premier), and had a brief stint in the NAHL with the Philadelphia Rebels. His experience and leadership were key assets throughout the 2024-25 campaign.
“Liam brings a veteran mindset to the game,” said Associate Head Coach and Assistant GM Tyler Casillo. “His commitment to development and team-first mentality made him a huge part of our success. He’s earned this next step.”
Wilkes University competes in the UCHC and has established itself as a strong contender in NCAA Division III hockey.
